In the column 'SiFu Says, today we posted an adaptation of a super interesting text from my Sibaak Gung Frank Grispos, partner of another dear personal friend and Sibaak Gung, George Kontras, both from Greece, about his experience in the school of the last disciple of Yip Man , SiFu Allan Lee.

2 Processamento do cérebro,

Potência = Massa x aceleração  P= m.a

O poder é considerado a força explosiva.

English version

Visiting a few years ago, my second sifu Allan Lee, at his New York school uses, I had a great experience. Once again, I saw the wing chun of the last student of the great master yip man.

All his students (95% of the Chinese second generation) were very friendly to me, with a particular philosophy that Allan Lee taught them. Each student is interested in the other to correct any detail of the techniques. Then the whole class advances because they have the philosophy that the best level of their classmate is, the better he will be because he makes techniques with a better one. The formation of the militant art of wing chun in New York uses is made in a much more intense and scientific, more realistic than Greece, with the result that the students of the school are to a much higher level. The way of teaching and the theory of the great master yip man for wing chun is the first to make a strong and healthy body and to strengthen the weak and weak points of our body, such as fruits, lock, fingers, etc. To build a strong base on the feet of us and ivy, and then move on to combat techniques. Strengthening of the weak points is achieved through special exercises, with very specialized instruments that have been the wing chun hunting system for about 350 years. Wing Chun, who is training at Allan Lee's sifu school, has nothing to do with what is happening here in Greece. The path is completely different in all areas. In New York, the students do their best, doing a hard workout with the fighting spirit. To be a good warrior, you must learn the sensitivity exercises, chi are, in the hands, so that when you are able to defend yourself in a battle, you do not think about how you move, but this comes automatically with the intuition E make the same move for defense and aggression at the same time. This is achieved by the daily practice in chi are that wing chun is unique in the world of martial arts.

■ 1 being the chi is makes us wake our body, and learn the automatic reaction and work our hands and our feet as sensors to better cover our vulnerabilities that are beating the opponent, and the opening of the opponent faster.
■ 2, chi sao makes us progressively level to feel the opponent's intention and follow him without having to touch him.
Being chi is teaches us to struggle with someone who has greater power than we as well as to remove the right energy as much as it takes to control and use its power and speed for our benefit instead of going against His power .

The way the human body works and reacts to an attack from our opponent is: first the vision works and we see our adversary to see the change. Then the vision gives the command of the brain to process it and make the result of the movement (Defense) that we will do. Then the brain gives an order to specific parts of our body in arms or feet, how they react and how they move.

This whole process has 3 STAGES

1, vision,

2 Brain processing,

3 Reaction movement.

With proper practice of wing chun chi, all 3 Phases are condensing and are made of three to a stage feel.
To understand the theory of the speed of sense that runs faster than the vision, we can do this experiment. We are touching our finger on a burning cigarette or a match, and we are almost to see it while we our finger not to burn. If we do exactly the same thing with our eyes closed, we will see that the movement that will make our finger pull out of the lit cigarette will be much faster than before.

The Wing Chuan is a combat system designed for battle (fighting) is the only martial art that has both defense and attack. Wing Chuan is designed for the human body to function simply and quickly make it more mobile and dynamic, improves our reflexes and reaction time.

Wing Chuan is the scientific form that works for every man or woman, for weak people, small people who, if practiced correctly, will be able to fight as well and do them well. Wing Chun uses a simple logic in a scientific way so that in the fastest time we can get the best energy and techniques to deal with an opponent when necessary. So we can see in a short time our progress and how good we have become. At the same time, we can see the vulnerabilities of other martial arts. Wing Chun only has 3 forms, and only with this is an integrated hunting system because in 3 ways, all the moves we need to deal with an opponent. All three forms are made for different reasons and is not the first less important form than the second or third form. Each form is made for different reasons and is linked together.

Wing Chun has such intelligent, important details and manners that it is difficult to have been created by a man. It's created from a woman. It is the only martial art in the world created by a woman. Because feminine nature has the characteristics, it first thinks and then reacts. While the male characteristics are the first to react and then think. Allan Lee, along with Wing Chun's greatest warrior teacher, who lives in the world today, Duncan Leung, who took private lessons from yip man, is in China today and teaches to fight, only to high-level wing chun students. He is one of Wing Chun's only fighters because he was to show him that the yip man was testing him on opponents of other systems with a real battle. He is one of the few teachers who have much experience and a real struggle. That was how he was trying to work better on the best of all the new techniques he learned from the system. It was not by chance that the duncan leung chose him long ago in Virginia uses, FBI secret service, US Navy, uses seals, to do a special combat training. In China today, the way they do training in a combat environment is that they bring the professional kick-ass from Thailand, and do a realistic war training with them, to get the best results in the wing chun system. In addition, Duncan Leung was officially selected by the Chinese sports ministry to teach on the official Chinese martial arts team, just as he opened many schools in China. I am trying to teach the same as I learned from them, with no changes, etc. And to convey your knowledge to select students who have zeal and loyalty to the wing chun.

Wing Chun is a martial art that, if one wants to know, should give time, trouble, sweat and money. All teachers, any martial arts teaching, is not about showing how good he is, projecting himself, but how he will teach a weak student to develop it in the shortest time, with the best possible results. That is how we dynamics, talent, intelligence and the ultimate goal of the teacher.

Wing Chun understands the reality of battle because it is made for battle, and that's why it works when you use it. It is a system that one can learn too quickly to defend. However, there has to be a lot of training. In Wing Chun there is theory and law, and this makes it a true art form. Knowledge is useless without the act and the act needs knowledge to develop the art.

Wing Chun is a martial art that can change and evolve. If a martial art has no inner education and philosophy, then it is not martial art, it is only a fighting skill. Art is combined with the mind, feelings and philosophy of the individual, and so passes through generations.

Wing Chun is an integrated martial arts system. You do not have to leave the system for answers. Wing Chun, in addition to good physical conditions and effective combat skills, offers you a way of life.

The concept of power in wing chun
The concept of power is explained to the wing chun through Newton 's 2nd Law equation:

Power = Mass x acceleration f = m. a

Power is considered to be explosive force. The body mass is predetermined. You do not grow or grow suddenly because your opponent is bigger or heavier than you. But this can change if the physical mass is used more effectively.

The faster an object accelerates, the greater energy impact force (kinetic energy) has. If you shoot someone, nothing's gonna happen. But if you put it on a gun and shoot it, it's probably going to kill you. The flexible run is very important for the wing chun. Theoretically, it works like a hurricane. The eye of the hurricane does exist, but its region moves and exerts tremendous power. In Wing Chun, you are your opponent with the whole body and not with the power of the hands. The power of the arms is spread by the right moment of the feet, the waist, the shoulders and the fruits at high speed.

Speed is a natural gift, but it can grow more. In essence, it is the result of a set of skills. It is seen as mobility, flexibility, physical and mental alertness, as a moment of recognition and a time of response.

Novo membro da Brazilian Wing Chun Academy - Núcleo Recife/Olinda - New member of Brazilian Wing Chun Academy - Recife/Olinda Team!

(Intensifying the training in preparation for my return to Salvador.) Second part of the Chum Kiu form.)

'' Students come and go Dido, do not worry about that ... ''
- SiFu talking to me in a conversation a few months ago ...

In the last two months, a lot in my life has changed and will still change with some predictions. But the fact is, it's been really hard keeping me up. Much of the fact that in practice, I changed jobs and working hours, everything has contributed to make it difficult to have time to train without having to worry or think about other things, but I hope, this is temporary ... But even for post here, things are much more rushed.

Even so - and do not ask me why - I still can not stop. SiFu had warned me a few times that "nobody walks 100km / h all the time ...". I'm actually more tired, more physically and mentally annoyed, and with less time these past two months, but so what? After all, it's in the difficulty that 'real men of weeping boys' come apart ... '', so I really do not see how not to be like that ... Sibaakgung Josh Shaw once told me that '' steel sharpens steel ... ", insinuating the idea that it is in the difficulty that the warrior has a greater chance of growing and he is absolutely right. And how many times have I not seen talented people giving up? And for much less than that?
Well, strong wishes and desires shape the character, do not they? What if I have to die doing it? Well, let me die!

Commenting with my students, I think I have more ex-students than students in general. Some, exactly for reasons that one should call '' impossibilities '', but which I regard as '' apologies ''. But what happens is that many can not stand the same training. This is because in the same way that my SiFu always requires the best of his students and particularly of those in which he truly believes that they can become as good as he or at least safeguarding the style within what he believes, I am also extremely (emphasis here ; EXTREMELY) demanding on the issue of the dedication and training of my training buddies.

(Eduardo, meu melhor discípulo e eu durante o treino da ultima segunda feira)
(Eduardo, my best disciple and me during last Monday's training session)

If you notice and go to the '' schedule a visit '' tab of this blog, it will read that '' Our group is small and purposely selected ... '' This is due to a hundred numbers of factors and reasons that do not I intend to study here. Many, but many have given up for reasons both private and for so many other reasons. But one of the most repeated speeches I've come to realize is that the workout '' is too exhausting, '' it's either '' too hard '' or '' too hard, '' and so on. that fruit of the requirement that I quoted sooner.

No dear reader, I'm not bragging! Even because there is this time of the championship I would not like to have a gym with a flow of people below the estimated to have a large group, within my own parameters just for vanity. However, our team currently consists of dedicated and dedicated people who are caring and know how to value - and are valued - what is being done. That's why, in the last month, we have won another training partner who is helping our Brazilian Wing Chun Academy core grow more.

(Nosso mais novo membro da Brazilian Wing Chun Academy - Núcleo Recife, D.r. João. Finalizando nosso treino regular)
(Our newest member of the Brazilian Wing Chun Academy - Núcleo Recife, Doc. João. Finalizing our regular training)

João works as an 'officer of justice', is the father of a family and is very dedicated to training. I have trained Shao Lin from the north at Recife's most famous school (where I also started in the Chinese martial arts as a teenager in the 1990s) and today, he seeks to practice a martial art for the sole purpose of learning to fight and to understand the notion (which some call 'philosophy') behind the logic of a martial system that can give you self-confidence. Up to the present moment, it has been showing assiduity, respect and commitment in learning and practicing everything that I have passed, demonstrating great potential!

(Eduardo, the little one who almost ripped my head off in the past post, continues to follow us unconditionally.)

As we are starting this new work in Olinda, it is still too early to say that João will follow us in the same way Eduardo has been doing for more than a year. But the prognosis for him is very good!
Then celebrate another new member of the Brazilian Wing Chun Academy core Recife / Olinda!
